Dre Rouleau est clinicienne chercheure et possède une vaste expérience en recherche.  Dre Rouleau a plusieurs champs d’intérêt en recherche, car elle vise la compréhension globale de ses patients. Depuis 2008, elle contribue à des avancées scientifiques en lien avec les fractures du membre supérieur, l’arthrose, les blessures tendineuses et ligamentaires et la prévention des infections post-opératoires. Elle compte maintenant près de 100 articles publiés dans des revues de comité de pair. Elle supervise plusieurs étudiants du cycle supérieur et compte sur de prestigieuses bourses de recherche et sur la collaboration de l’industrie pour mener à bien ses projets avec l’équipe d’orthopédie du CIUSSSS NÎM.  

Avec d’autres chercheurs du centre de recherche du CIUSSS NÎM et de l’Université Laval, elle se concentre présentement sur la compréhension de la douleur chronique suite à des fractures au membre supérieur. En effet, même après une très bonne guérison osseuse, 20% des patients présentent encore une douleur handicapante inexpliquée.  On doit trouver pourquoi !
